About Studio C Bridal

Studio C began in 2013 as a Textile Workspace, producing theatrical costumes and special occasion wear. Caitlyn’s background and formal training are from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) - graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in Costume. Her theatre credentials include making for award winning, internationally recognised theatre/ film designers and actors with Opera Australia, Bell Shakespeare Company, Griffin Theatre, Belvoir Street Theatre, State Theatre Company of South Australia, and for the live theatre production companies Global Creations and Gordon Frost. Further to theatrical work, Cailyn designed and made wedding gowns for Sydney based bridal boutiques. In early 2013, C opened her first making space and started working under her own banner. Her background in theatrical costume making allows Caitlyn to draw on years of experience within the high pressure environments of the performing arts industry.

Through the studies at NIDA, Caitlyn established a love of historic costuming, and honing her skills in the ability to flatter each individual body shape through technical drafting, sewing and fabric knowledge, drawing on knowledge from all eras through history. Caitlyn possesses an eye for fine detail, and the ability to see the beauty in every idea. Care is taken in the placement of each seam to ensure the most flattering lines are created.

Caitlyn’s studio evolved into Studio C Bridal with a passion to curate beautiful, original, one of a kind pieces. Bridal gowns and accessories are all made to order, creating a unique look from exquisite fabrics. Consultations and fittings are by appointment only. All work is completed in house, with the finest fabrics sourced locally and globally.

While the focus is always to produce original designs and new gowns, restoring heirloom gowns into a new look for your wedding day is also possible. These gowns are treated with the respect they deserve, and the finest care will be taken to give them a new life. Caitlyn has experience in performing alterations to original dresses from the 1910s, through to alterations of couture French designer gowns from the 1940s and 50s. As construction methods evolved across the years, an open mind is kept while working to revitalise these garments for their reincarnation.

Studio C Bridal’s open plan style showcases both design and consultation areas, and cutting and sewing facilities in their best light. The desire took over to strip back the mystery, and show brides-to-be through the entire, beautiful process of making their gown for the most special day in their lives.
